How to Read the EdgeVisor Dashboard UI

Use this page when the live dashboard layout changed or a label on a PublicCard, modal, or Market scan panel is unclear. It documents product chrome, not the full methodology stack.

How to use this page

Read the extract first, then the application and limits sections, and only then decide whether the thesis is strong enough for action or only for context.

Extractable overview

Goal: map the live /dashboard product — sidebar tabs, hero shelf, PublicCard feed, signal modal, tools (including Market scan), and tier gates — to decision language.

How to use this page: start with Dashboard layout, then open the section that matches what you clicked. Card-level interpretation still pairs with How to read a pick.

Pair with: How analytics works for pipeline depth (ingestion → consensus → decision), not for day-to-day UI labels.

Dashboard layout: tabs, hero shelf, and feed

The public dashboard is a single-page app with a collapsible sidebar. Each tab is an isolated view; filters on one tab do not change another.

Sidebar tabWhat you get
Top Picks Default home. Hero shelf (featured market + runner strip) plus the ranked feed of curated picks. Feed filters (category, signal mode, sort, layout) apply only below the hero — the shelf stays snapshot-curated.
All Markets Discovery screener over EdgeVisor-indexed listings (Top pick, indexed, and processed tiers). Not the same list as Top Picks; filters apply to this catalog only.
Watchlist Markets you pinned from Top Picks or All Markets — compare crowd YES and model edge vs your last visit.
Alerts Rule builder and delivery history (Pro-gated in the product UI when tier limits are enforced).
Calculator and tools Inline EV calculator, Polymarket analysis (full URL workflow), and Market scan (discovery feed + quick preview — see below).
Paper bets Simulated YES/NO stakes on the same markets as Top Picks — no wallet, no CLOB orders (Pro-gated in UI when limits apply).
Performance Track record KPIs, charts, and resolved history — calibrate trust over time, not for timing one tick.
How to use EdgeVisor In-product tour and reading guide (includes hero and feed walkthrough).

Top Picks: hero shelf

  • Featured market — highest-edge curated pick in a medium PublicCard (same card system as the feed).
  • Runner shelf — compact cards for the next high-edge markets; some slots may show a Pro lock overlay on Free tier.
  • Star / watchlist control — top-right on cards; toggles watchlist membership without leaving the shelf.

Top Picks: ranked feed

  • Category chips — filter the feed list only (Politics, Crypto, Sports, Macro, …).
  • Signal modeCONV (convergence: crowd moved toward our side, edge still positive) vs EARLY (wider disagreement). Use All if a slice is empty.
  • LayoutDetailed (medium PublicCard, two per row) or Compact (runner-style scan cards).
  • Sort — volume, liquidity, edge, ending soon, recently updated, etc. Reorders the visible feed; does not change model scores.

PublicCard (medium pick card)

Top Picks and All Markets render through PublicCard (public-card.js + public-card.css). Labels below match the live UI.

Header and Polymarket prices

  • Event title + option label — when Polymarket splits event vs contract, both lines show; otherwise a single question line.
  • Close / 24h Vol / Liquidity — context tiles; liquidity is a coarse band (High / Med / Low), not a live CLOB depth chart.
  • pm-trade-row — crowd YES and NO in cents; the highlighted side matches the model pick.

EdgeVisor analysis band

The violet EdgeVisor analysis · not Polymarket section is the thesis surface on the card (not a second market price):

LabelMeaning
Pick YES/NO + on … Recommended side on the selected contract leg.
High / Medium / Low conv. Bucketed model confidence for this explanation path — not your personal risk budget.
Market Polymarket crowd price for the picked side (¢).
Fair EdgeVisor fair value for that side (¢) after calibration-aware consensus.
Edge (signed, often green/red) Model fair minus crowd mid for the selected leg (percentage points). Hover tooltips on cards spell out the formula when wired.
Thesis paragraph Short summary line from the live explanation payload — re-check before sizing.

Payout block and foot actions

  • Payout scenario — illustrative $100 stake math for the picked side (educational, not a filled order).
  • Risk note — fixed micro-copy: educational signal, Polymarket settles, re-check live.
  • Signal detail — opens the signal modal (full thesis, option book, exit plan when present).
  • Open on Polymarket — venue exit link; EdgeVisor does not custody funds.
  • Copy link — copies the Polymarket market URL when available.

All Markets catalog cards use the same PublicCard shell with Market detail instead of Signal detail and a discovery listing note — they are indexed listings, not curated Top picks.

Signal detail modal

Click Signal detail on a Top Picks card (or open a shared #signal=… link). The modal is the deep read; the card is the scan surface.

BlockRead it as
Meta chips (category, mode, listing age, TTL) Category vertical, signal mode (CONV/EARLY), first-seen-in-index age bands, time-to-resolution style TTL — not Polymarket “NEW” badges.
detail-rec-card EdgeVisor recommendation banner: side, wager label, market vs model fair, edge, conviction. Applies only to the named option in a multi-outcome event.
option-book Sibling outcomes on the same event with YES/NO crowd prices and PICK markers — use this when the event has multiple contracts.
EdgeVisor thesis + bull/bear lists Structured bull and bear cases when the pipeline supplied them; otherwise the thesis paragraph stands alone.
exit-box / exit plan When shown: target (often model-side fair), horizon (~hours), and review trigger (e.g. price or thesis change). Omitted for watch-only modes.
modal-actions Open on Polymarket (primary venue CTA), watchlist toggle, copy link. Alert-on-update may appear disabled until delivery is live for your account.

Catalog modal variant (from All Markets) labels the listing as discovery, shows the option book, and uses Market detail framing — same modal chrome, different recommendation context.

Market scan (Tools tab)

Market scan lives under Calculator and tools. It is not “paste a URL and analyze everything” as the only surface — that full workflow is the Polymarket analysis sub-tab.

Discovery feed — ranked list from GET /api/public/trending: liquid Polymarket markets EdgeVisor already scored (model vs crowd). Category chips filter this list only; they do not analyze a link you have not pasted.

Quick preview — optional URL field runs POST /api/public/tool/preview and shows the same style of detail panel as clicking a feed card. The search box does not re-rank the discovery grid.

UI copyMeaning
Highest edge in snapshot Pre-scored public index sorted by signed edge — not output from your pasted URL.
Detail: Market price / Model estimate bars Same crowd vs model comparison as on cards, in a preview layout.
← Back to discovery feed Returns from preview detail to the trending grid.

Standalone /analytics uses the same widget with a marketing hero; the dashboard variant hides the hero and shows the panel intro above.

Free vs Pro (when tier limits are enforced)

Server-side caps come from product_settings (enforce_tier_limits). The UI mirrors those gates with banners, blurred teasers, and lock icons. See Pricing for commercial packaging; numbers below match default product settings.

SurfaceFreePro
Top Picks grid First 3 ranked picks visible; banner shows 3 of 25 with upgrade CTA. Up to 25 curated picks in the feed.
Hero runner shelf One runner slot open; additional runners may show Pro lock overlay. Full runner strip without locks.
All Markets catalog Teaser / blurred rows — sign in or upgrade to unlock full screener. Full catalog (pricing copy: 100-market index).
Performance / track record Rolling window (default 7 days). Longer history (default 90 days unless unlimited flag is on).
Alerts Nav item locked — shell visible, rules engine Pro-only in UI. Full alert types (volume spike, smart-money shift, etc.) per plan.
Paper bets Nav item locked in dashboard UI. Simulated stakes tied to Performance.
Market scan / tools Discovery feed and quick preview generally available; deep analysis limits may apply per plan. Higher analysis quotas (see pricing feature list).

New sign-ups may receive a short Pro trial window (see pricing page) — during trial, Pro caps apply even if the account later downgrades to Free.

What the UI does not prove

The dashboard is optimized for fast scanning. It cannot replace reading market rules on Polymarket, liquidity at click time, or your own risk limits.

  • No hidden oracle: fair values and edges are model outputs with explicit failure modes.
  • No custody: venue CTAs leave EdgeVisor; execution and settlement are on Polymarket (or your wallet).
  • No sure profit: edge is structured disagreement, not a guarantee of PnL.
  • Feeds are scoped: Top Picks, All Markets, and Market scan discovery are different indexes — do not treat them as one interchangeable list.

Frequently asked questions

Is Market scan the same as Polymarket analysis?

No. Market scan is a pre-scored discovery feed plus optional URL quick preview. Polymarket analysis (Tools tab) is the full paste-a-URL workflow. Category chips on Market scan filter the trending list only; they do not analyze an arbitrary link.

Why do Top Picks and All Markets show different markets?

Top Picks is a curated ranked feed with a hero shelf. All Markets is a broader screener (indexed and processed listings). Filters and sorts on one tab never change the other.

Does a large edge on the card mean I should trade immediately?

No. Edge is model fair minus crowd price on the selected leg. Read the signal modal (thesis, option book, exit plan when shown), Polymarket rules, and liquidity before acting.
